Di the Come'DI"an
Philadelphia native, comedian, actress, entertainer, MC/party host, community activist, poet and percussionist Ajourdi Hargrove started doing standup after winning a comedy competition at Philly’s Gayborhood Games. Di (pronounced “Dee”) found her passion for hosting and comedy in college, starting with the West Chester University Black Student Union Fashion Show. As “#1 Dyke on The Mic,” she went on to host dozens of charity events, parties, talent shows and more.
She hosted her own long-running radio show on WCUR 91.7 FM, and guest-hosted on WUSL Power 99 FM in Philly. Di the ComeDIan pursues her creative work of comedy and hosting (or “comosting”), acting, and doing public speaking and activism around domestic violence. She’s also founder of Da “L” Factor social networking group for women of color. Di hosts internet radio shows on “Qweer to the T” LGBT radio, Germantown Radio, and Heat 100 Radio.
Di is currently doing brand management for different artists and entertainers nonprofits and small
businesses utilizing her master’s degree in management from Gwynedd-Mercy. Di is currently and on their personality with her own radio show that airs weekly every Thursday 7 to 9 p.m. on Philly’s first LGBTQ radio station Ayee Radio @ayeeradio. Di is utilizing her communications degree by engaging in community service providing youth mentorship doing public speaking and motivational speaking at various events such as schools and for nonprofits.
