Confirmed for 2018! Crys Matthews

Crys Matthews DC's Crys Matthews is nothing if not ambitious. In August, she simultaneously released both a new full-length album, The Imagineers and an EP, Battle Hymn For An Army Of Lovers. These collections showcase two sides of Matthews’ dynamic songwriting; The Imagineers is a selection of thoughtful songs about love and life while Battle Hymn For An Army Of Lovers tackles social justice themes. Songs from both projects have already won her recognition and awards. She was one of ten finalists (from a pool of 5,000) in this year's NewSong Music Competition and, after performing at Lincoln Center on November 30th, she was named grand-prize winner. Matthews also won the People Music Network's Social Just Songs contest at the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance.

What? 2018 Registration is open already?

We don't usually open our super-cheap "Tax Time" registration until the beginning of the year, but we received such a great response to the 2017 Weekend that we opened registration for 2018 early. Prices won't get any lower than this, so if you love women, women's music, women's culture, and want all of it at bargain-basement prices, go ahead and get in now.

Weekend Wish List

In order to make this Weekend be the very best it can be, we have accumulated a long shopping list. We are trying to defray some of the costs by reaching out to the community to see if anyone has any of the items needed and would be willing to donate them to us. Click here to see the list. In lieu of in-kind donations, we could also use gift cards towards suggested stores. In return, your name will be published in our program on our Contributors page (not to mention also being held dearly in our hearts). Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

Spread the Word: Publicity and Cross-Promotion

Help us get the word out about the Weekend! If you're able to take some of our fliers to any local parties, bars, or other lesbian-oriented spaces or events, email us at info@sisterspace.org. Also - if you are involved with a lesbian organization, community, publication, etc. and are interested in working out some sort of ad swap or cross-promotional arrangement, we're all ears! Let us know what you have in mind, and let's talk. We look forward to hearing from you!
